I was very touched by Elder Holland's talk in General Conference this last weekend about the Savior's Atonement and Resurrection. I was telling my mom that I almost felt like I was under a spell- his words were so powerful. I have always been taught that the Savior always knows how we feel as we are going through the trials we face in this life, butI don't think I understood how that was possible until I listened to Elder Holland. All I knew was that the Savior has definitely carried us through losing Jacob and Joseph. Now I understand that He could carry us because He truly knew how we felt. I am so grateful for Him and the promise that Jacob is saved in the Celestial Kingdom because of the miraculous Atonement. And that if we do our best to live as we should and repent as we make mistakes, we have the same promise. That's what I'll be thinking about this Easter.
We took some Easter things to Jacob's grave. The Elmo and Percy are things he loved to play with. The pinwheels on the right are for Our Primary Colors, his favorite song. The kids picked out the Easter figurines on sticks on the left. The baskets are filled with eggs. We wrote messages to Jacob on them and put them inside. We miss you, Jacob!
